The airline says flight AA3221 was diverted due to a possible mechanical issue.
Thankfully, the plan landed safely and the maintenance team is conducting an inspection of the aircraft.
“We never want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience,” the airline said in a statement to Queen City News.
The flight has been rescheduled to arrive in Charlotte at 12:04 a.m., according to FlightAware.
