Monday will see lower humidity once again with mostly sunny skies and temperatures that reach the mid 90s during the afternoon hours. Rain chances remain very low during the daytime, but a slightly better rain chance comes in the evening from showers and storms that develop around Acadiana and move in. Feels-like temperatures will be kept in check with a nice northerly breeze during the afternoon hours.
The tropics have awoken and we are now monitoring three areas. The first is an area of low pressure off the North Carolina coast closer to Bermuda. It has a high chance of development and will likely get the name Dexter either late Sunday night or Monday. It will head into open waters and not affect land. The second area is a tropical wave in the Main Development Region of the Atlantic. It has a medium chance of development by the end of the week as it works westward. For now, it will stay far away from any land areas. The third comes later this week near North Carolina as another area of low pressure could form. This one has the highest chance of causing impacts as it turns westward but also the lowest chance of development at this time. Those chances could increase in the next few days, but it will not be a threat to Acadiana.
Our local forecast is all about the summertime heat and humidity returning starting Tuesday. Each day this week, humidity increases a bit more, afternoon temperatures become a bit less hot, and rain chances rise. By the end of the week, a typical summertime weather pattern sets in with daily hit-and-miss storm chances and highs in the lower 90s with feels-like temperatures around 105.
