‘Only in SF’: Fans can get trippy Muni trip to Dead & Company shows

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Those attending the weekend of Dead & Company performances at Golden Gate Park have the option of taking trippy rides to and from the shows.

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has wrapped three Muni vehicles — the 5 Fulton, 7 Haight/Noreiga and N Judah —with psychedelic designs.

“We’re not just showing up with more service,” said SF MUNI. “We’re making your rides groovy. We created custom psychedelic designs and wrapped them around one Muni train and two Muni buses that run along Golden Gate Park. When you hop on our Trippy Train and Psychedelibus, you go back in time to the early days of the Grateful Dead.”

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s rocking beginnings in San Francisco, Dead & Company is performing from Aug. 1 to 3.

“@deadandcompany crushed it last night at @GoldenGatePark!” said SF Muni in a social media post on Saturday. Then Muni brought everyone back to Earth. Only in SF✌️🎸.”
