Bossier Mayor Tommy Chandler said, “He always says he loves coming here to Shreveport and Bossier and it’s always good to see him.”
He discussed topics such as the big beautiful bill, border control and energy dominance.
The media had a chance to ask him questions such as what would you say to people who are skeptical for the bill? Johnson said, “Stay tuned because they are going to see the effects. You don’t have to take our word for it, you will see the effects.”
Another reporter asked about the threat to rural hospitals and he replied, “Rural hospitals will be fine, no rural hospitals are going to close we actually in the bill put a side a big super fund fifty million dollars to make sure rural hospitals and underserved hospitals have the support they need. We built in flexibility for states to be able to support the providers at the local level so its a big thing in my district and i have a lot of rural hospitals and I’m guarding that and watching their backs.”
Those we spoke with in attendance were pleased with the job he is doing. He also traveled to Monroe and Ruston to meet with community and business leaders.
