Tabernacle Choir to perform with five guests in “Songs of Hope” tour in Argentina

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s “Songs of Hope” tour is in full swing, and attendees of their fifth stop in Argentina will get to see several guest singers.

Choir at Temple Square has been performing in multiple locations across the globe as part of its “Songs of Hope” world tour. The tour initially kicked off in Mexico, Mexico City in June of 2023, and the choir has since visited Manila, Philippines; Sunrise, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and Lima, Peru.

The fifth stop on the tour is in Buenos Aires, Argentina with concerts on August 19, 22, and 23, 2025. The August 23rd performance will also be livestreamed the choir’s YouTube page.

The choir will reportedly by performing with several prominent Argentinian singers and actors. The first of those is Raúl Lavié, who has appeared on Broadway and the Mogador Theatre in Paris.

Another performer is Soledad Pastorutti, who is also known as “La Sole”. She has sung before Pope Francis and at the Argentina 2022 World Cup, in addition to earning several awards and hosting several television shows.

Attendees will also have a chance to see the popular Argentine singer Maggie Cullen who has performed at the Cosquín folk festival and won several Gardel awards for her traditional Argentinian folk songs.

The concerts will also have Dos Más Uno and Alex Melecio. Dos Más Uno is a popular trio composed by singers Marcelo Dellamea, Hugo Dellamea, and Ariel Sánchez that has put on over 50 concerts across the globe. Alex Melecio is a popular singer-songwriter who has performed globally and previously worked with the Tabernacle Choir.

According to Church officials, this tour’s objectives include religious goals and sharing a message of hope. Gary B. Porter, within the choir, said “We were hoping we would bring a spirit of love and inclusiveness.”

The choir’s stop in Buenos Aires is also meant to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Church’s establishment in South America, which occurred in 1925.

Reportedly, the Tabernacle Choir has plans to travel and perform in two different locations per year, with the end of the tour in 2027. Their next stop will be in Brazil in February 2026. Regarding future performances, Choir President Michael O. Leavitt said, “We look forward to sharing the messages of hope and peace that can be found in the Choir’s music.”
