Sweetwater lowers flags for city employee who died while working

SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Sweetwater will lower flags to honor a Water Distribution Department employee who died while responding to a water leak.

The tribute is in memory of Robert Saucedo, who died at the age of 23.

Mayor Jerod Peek has ordered that all city flags be flown at half-staff at municipal buildings through Monday, August 4, in recognition of Saucedo’s service and sacrifice.

The City of Sweetwater extends condolences to Robert’s family, friends, and coworkers. Residents are invited to remember Robert and his work for the community.
