PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police are urging witnesses of a pedestrian crash to come forward after a woman involved died from her injuries Thursday, nearly three weeks after the collision.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on July 13, officers with the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) responded to the area of Centreville Road and Orchard Bridge Drive in Manassas to investigate a pedestrian crash.

Investigators learned 38-year-old Carolina Isabel Rosales Cepeda was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a 24-year-old woman driving a 2022 Honda Civic.

At the time, Rosales Cepeda was not in a designated crosswalk or safe crossing area, PWCPD noted.

The driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt, while Rosales Cepeda was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Weeks later, on July 31, police announced that she had succumbed to her injuries.

PWCPD investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact police.
