Woman accused of DUI after hit-and-run on I-5 in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman was accused of driving under the influence after fleeing the scene of a crash on I-5 in Fresno County on Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP reports a woman was arrested and accused of DUI and hit-and-run.

Officers report a woman was driving a white Hyundai when she got involved in a hit-and-run crash with a black Peterbilt truck tractor in combination with a trailer. Her vehicle was last seen southbound on I-5, just south of Manning Avenue.

CHP located a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle description. They say the Hyundai was driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph – officers then conducted a high-speed stop and safely detained the female driver without incident.

Investigators later determined she was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. Her identity has not been released.
