OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — The City of Opelousas announced that Heather Street will be closed beginning on Monday, Aug. 4 due to essential bridge repairs, officials said.
According to officials, the work on Heather Drive is part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement initiative that has included recent projects on Frilot Street, Augusta Street, and Plaisance Street.
“These repairs are necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of our city’s roads,” Mayor Julius Alsandor said. “We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we complete these improvements.”
The City advises motorists to plan alternate routes during the closure in the meantime.
