Storms to develop Friday, cooler temperatures arrive this weekend
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — More stormy weather developed over the region after a hot and humid day. We’ve got one more day (for a little while, at least) of highs around 90 before we get a little taste of fall this weekend!

Friday starts dry early, but keep the umbrella handy– we’re expecting more scattered heavy showers and storms to develop in the afternoon and evening. Some could turn severe around the Charlotte area into SC; damaging wind gusts is the main threat. Any slow-moving downpours could lead to flooding as well. Stay weather aware!

This weekend will be a treat in terms of temperatures. As a cold front drops south, a cooler flow will develop out of the northeast. This will make temperatures struggle to make it out of the 70s Saturday! Lots of clouds will keep those temps in check as well. It’s not just clouds, but showers or a storm could still pop up through the evening.

Sunday is looking drier, less humid and brighter with more sun. Next week starts dry, but summertime shower and storm chances return mid to late week… along with highs close to 90 again!
