Man arrested after chase ends in crash with MDOT truck

PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Pike County deputies announced a man was arrested after a chase ended when his vehicle crashed into a Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) work truck.

Pike County Sheriff Wally Jones said deputies attempted to stop a red passenger car at the intersection of Bala Chitto Road and Pike 93 Central on July 31. He said the vehicle fled from deputies onto Highway 48.

During the chase, Jones said the suspect’s vehicle lost control and crashed into a MDOT work truck before careening into a wooded area. The driver, who was identified as Jamarion Pounds, of Magnolia, was arrested and is facing felony charges.
