Two teens arrested in Waynesboro mass shooting

WAYNESBORO, Miss. (WHLT) – Waynesboro police announced two teenagers were arrested in connection to a mass shooting that injured five people.

According to  Waynesboro Police Chief Holt Ross, Micaiah Yvonne Polk, 19, and Zimetrice Laimone Denson, 17, were arrested on Friday. Their bonds were seat at $1 million each.

The drive-by shooting occurred on Turner Street at Grey Street around 11:00 p.m. on July 20.

Ross said multiple shots were fired in front of a residential area. One victim was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment.

The police chief said more arrests are possible. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 601-735-3129.
