LEESVILLE, La. (WNTZ) — A Leesville man was found dead Tuesday afternoon near a vacant building on South 5th Street, according to the Leesville Police Department.

Around 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot near a building that formerly housed GBI. Upon arrival, authorities located the body of Gregory Mosher, a local resident who was known to use the area as a place to sleep.

The Vernon Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the body. After conducting a preliminary investigation, officials stated that no foul play is suspected in Mosher’s death.

The man’s family has been notified, and the case remains under review by local authorities.

Leesville Police Chief Beth Westlake extended condolences on behalf of the department.

“Our thoughts are with the family of Gregory Mosher during this difficult time,” Westlake said in a statement.
