SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Two men have been arrested after they allegedly stole $1,500 worth of ribeye steaks and slabs of beef brisket.
According to the Slidell Police Department, the two men, identified as 55-year-old John Garriga, of Gulfport, Mississippi, and 66-year-old Charles Walker, of Biloxi, Mississippi, were pulled over on Old Spanish Trail in Slidell when officers noticed that the vehicle they were in didn’t have working brake lights.
Police say the two men seemed “unusually nervous” during the traffic stop, which led the officers to discover the stolen steaks and beef brisket which were allegedly stolen not long before the pair was pulled over.
They were arrested on charges of felony theft and possession of stolen property.
