BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A former LSU running back is now practicing with the Southern Jaguars.

Trey Holly was seen wearing full pads and taking part in team drills. Southern University head coach Terrence Graves said, “he’s as advertised.”

The former LSU running back recently joined the team as a walk-on.

The online roster for the Jaguars showed that Holly will be wearing #6.

The current redshirt sophomore attended Union Parish High School. While there, he set the new all-time rushing record in Louisiana. He ran for 10,523 yards before making his way to LSU.

He played in three games for LSU during the 2023 season. He ran for 110 yards during his freshman season with the Tigers.

Holly did not play for LSU in 2024. He was charged in connection with a shooting that happened on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024.

He later released a statement in which the former LSU running back said he was falsely accused in the case.
