Eastbank earned the right to represent Louisiana in the regional round after winning five straight elimination games to claim the program’s sixth state title and its first since 2022.
“Every kid contributes in every single way, and it’s all in different ways. When we need a big hit, we’ve got kids for that. When we need guys on abse, we’ve got kids for that. When we need a big spark, we’ve got kids for that. All twelve kids contribute, and it’s pretty insane how well this team is built and how well they play together,” said head coach Scott Ledet
Eastbank is led by first-year head coach Scott Ledet, who joined the program after its Little League World Series championship win in 2019.
Ledet was an assistant on the team that was eliminated by Mississippi in the regional tournament three years ago.
“As soon as we lost to Starkville, Mississippi, I knew I had to do everything in my power to get back. It was a tough feeling. It was a hard feeling, and coincidentally, we open with Starkville, Mississippi, on Thursday. So, it’s definitely motivation for me, and it was a tough loss, and we definitely want to get them back,” said Ledet.
Eastbank’s Southwest Regional Tournament opener is Thursday at 4 p.m. against Mississippi. The winner plays Friday at 1 p.m.
If Eastbank manages a regional tournament championship, they advance to Williamsport with a chance to become the second team in program history to win the Little League World Series.
