KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos was outside the diner Tuesday morning talking to customers who are happy to have a place to recharge their Teslas, but admit the newfound convenience is creating gridlock in the area.
“I was excited because I could charge my car, but yeah, it’s been insane … the traffic’s been insane,” said Tyrone Brown, who lives in the area.
Others have even referred to lines of cars on Santa Monica Boulevard and the surrounding streets as a safety hazard.
On Monday, TMZ reported that a covering on the rooftop patio area came loose and hit a woman in the head.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call of a 21-year-old woman complaining of injuries. The patient declined transport to a local hospital, telling responders she would go on her own. The family plans to file a lawsuit against Tesla over the incident, according to TMZ.
And over the weekend, demonstrators gathered outside the location for two nights to protest Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration. Some of the demonstrators said that the community isn’t supportive of Musk.
Meanwhile, business appears to be booming at the diner, with customers lining up for chargers and breakfast again on Tuesday morning.
Some customers told KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos that they were especially looking forward to ordering the smash burgers and the biscuits and gravy.
