Benicia PD informs residents of Exchange Zone

(KRON) – The Benicia Police Department informed residents of its Exchange Zone.

With the growing popularity of Facebook Marketplace and other virtual marketplaces, safety concerns also rise.

Police said the site is in front of the Benicia police station, which is located at 200 E L St. The department said the green curb parking is designated for exchanging items.

The area is surveilled at all hours of the day. The department cautioned residents that Benicia police officers or personnel cannot serve as official witnesses to transactions or settle civil disputes related to any transactions.
