Bargain outlet Ollie’s to open in Covington with big discounts

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — Looking for “good stuff cheap”? You’re in luck, as bargain market Ollie’s will open its doors in Covington on Wednesday, July 30.

Ollie’s offers up to 70% off on a wide variety of items, from health and beauty products to flooring. According to a news release, the store will also bring about 50 to 60 new jobs to the local community.

The new store is located at 1200 Business 190, Suite 2. The spot formerly housed a Big Lots, which closed hundreds of locations nationwide in 2024 after filing for bankruptcy. According to a news release, the Covington location is just one of over 60 former Big Lots store leases that Ollie’s has acquired.

“We are excited to open our 18th store in the great state of Louisiana, where the folks have been so good to us,” said Eric van der Valk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.

Ollie’s will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on opening day. Further hours are yet to be announced.
