Police say just after 1 a.m., they attempted to stop a gray Kia on Court Street and Murray Avenue suspected of DUI and expired registration. The driver failed to stop and led officers on a chase into the county.
Visalia police then laid spike strips near Road 132 and Avenue 368, successfully disabling the vehicle. Then, using a PIT maneuver, CHP brought the car to a stop.
Officers say they ultimately arrested the driver, 20-year-old Aldo Garcia, on charges of drug possession, DUI, felony evading, reckless driving, and his Ramey Warrant. Issued by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, it was for burglary, a no-bail warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.
