Officials say highway will be closed in both directions beginning at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, then reopen by 8 a.m. Sunday.
According to ODOT, this closure will allow for crews to safely remove a pedestrian bridge, which is the next step toward reopening the Hall Boulevard overpass in Tigard.
For the duration of the closure, ODOT says all drivers going southbound on 217 will need to exit at Greenburg Road and all going northbound will exit at OR 99W.
They add there will also be some nighttime noise during the removal of the temporary bridge.
