Mountain Home man dies from injuries sustained in 3-vehicle accident earlier this month

A Mountain Home man has died from injuries he sustained in a three-vehicle accident in Baxter County earlier this month. The victim, 87-year-old Benjamin P. Lohmeyer, died at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.He was one of three people injured in the accident who were taken to the Springfield hospital. Also treated at that facility were 82-year-old Melva J. White, a passenger in the vehicle driven by Lohmeyer, and 67-year-old Joseph P. Robinson of Lakeview, the driver of one of the other vehicles.According to the Arkansas State Police report, the accident happened when a vehicle was stopped to make a turn. Robinson crossed the centerline of the highway to avoid the stopped vehicle and struck Lohmeyer’s vehicle and then struck the stopped vehicle. No injuries were reported to anyone in the stopped vehicle.





The accident happened on Arkansas State Highway 178 at the intersection of Busch Lane just west of Midway the afternoon of July 2.
