The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified her as Amya Elizabeth Haas.
In an X post, the Indianapolis Fire Department in assistance with Pike Township Fire Department, Wayne Township Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources, conducted a search in the Eagle Creek Reservoir near Rick’s Boatyard Cafe around 5:05 p.m. A caller told IFD that Haas dove into the water from a sailboat and didn’t resurface.
IFD, Pike, and Wayne Township dive teams spent several hours searching the area where she was reported missing.
All four agencies deployed boats in the water that used sonar to help with the search along with a drone, but the agencies were unsuccessful in finding Haas. The effort to find her was terminated at 7:11 p.m. and the incident was turned over to DNR.
DNR continued sonar operations for several more hours and located Haas’ body around 10:18 p.m.
