According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, I-65 northbound will shut down at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 25, and reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 28.
The closure extends from the I-65/I-70 interchange to the I-65/I-465 interchange. The following northbound ramps will also shut down:
Crews are working on drainage improvements beneath the interstate.
Demolition of the I-65 northbound bridge over Morris and Prospect streets is scheduled for next week.
The work will close Morris and Prospect nightly between St. Patrick Street and the I-65 southbound ramp from Thursday, July 31, to Saturday, Aug. 2.
Those closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Lane restrictionss are also planned for I-65 during the demolition process.
Crews will install a new deck and beams.
The work is part of the I-65 Safety and Efficiency project, which aims to reduce congestion on Indy’s south side. It includes added lanes, pavement patching and resurfacing, and improvements to bridges, sidewalks and drainage.
All work is dependent upon the weather and could change based on the conditions outdoors.
