Pedestrian killed in Marigny-area 18-wheeler crash

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A pedestrian is dead following a crash with an 18-wheeler that occurred around the Marigny area of New Orleans on Thursday, July 24.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, police began investigating the crash, which occurred at the intersection of St. Claude and Franklin avenues, around 4:35 p.m.

Investigators say that on scene a pedestrian was found to have been hit by an 18-wheeler, and was pronounced dead on scene by New Orleans EMS.

St. Claude at Port Street, St Claude at St. Ferdinand Street, St. Claude at Marigny, St. Claude and Music Street and St. Claude and Marais Street are all closed to traffic as the investigation remains ongoing.
