Man hospitalized following Marigny shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man has been hospitalized following a shooting that happened in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans on Friday night, May 16.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the shooting, which happened in the 2200 block of St. Claude Avenue, was initially reported around 10:36 p.m.

The initial investigation shows that two men were arguing when the suspect threw a drink on the victim, prompting the victim to punch the suspect in the face. The suspect then reportedly pulled a gun and shot the victim at least one time.

The victim was then taken to a local hospital by New Orleans EMS.
