
Authorities said the suspect did not pay for the items and exited the store without incident. According to police, the suspect allegedly made off with an impressive haul of meats and energy drinks over two days, including:
- 17 packs of ribeye steaks.
- 6 pounds of thick-cut bacon.
- 12.25 pounds of sausage.
- An unspecified number of energy drinks.
“With a grocery list like that, we’re confident she either has the most well-stocked deep freezer in town… or knows exactly where a BBQ pit is hiding,” the police department wrote on social media.
The case quickly captured local attention after the department posted about the theft on social media, referring to the suspect as a “meat-loving mystery shopper” and calling on the public to help identify her.
Thanks to tips from the community, the suspect has now been identified, though officials have not yet released her name. Charges are expected to follow.
“All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” Pineville Police said. “But let’s be honest… that much bacon doesn’t just walk out on its own.”
