CROWLEY, La. (
KLFY) — A Crowley man has been arrested and charged with murder after he was found at his grandmother’s house, authorities said.
Janmichael Thomas Jr., 22, of Crowley, is charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal carrying of weapons by a convicted felon and simple robbery, in connection with the Feb. 16 murder of Dontraylon Willis.
After identifying Thomas as a suspect, investigators received information that he may have fled to Texas. With the combined efforts of the U.S. Marshall’s Office and Crowley Police investigators, Thomas was located at his grandmother’s residence, located on East Northern Avenue in Crowley.
When U.S. Marshalls along with Crowley Police surrounded the residence, Thomas complied with orders to exit the home, where he was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
Thomas was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on $1.6 million bond.
