Some popular TikToks and posts across other social media platforms have been convincing many Utahns that the popular gas station and travel center brand based out of Texas will be opening a location in Spanish Fork.
The city weighed in this evening, clarifying that it was just a rumor.
“Some say if you whisper ‘Buc-ee’s’ three times at sunset, a beaver appears with a brisket sandwich,” Spanish Fork City shared on Facebook. “That’s about as real as the Texas-sized rumor going around.”
In the comments, someone asked why Spanish Fork couldn’t get a Buc-ee’s, and the city replied that “cities and businesses don’t always have the same plans,” but that they “love having conversations with retailers looking to move in.”
Although Spanish Fork City said they’re not aware of any plans from Buc-ee’s to move in at this time, they promised to keep the public updated.
“Should that ever change, we’ll let you know,” the city said about the rumor.
