The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a St. Paul Police Department vehicle crashed into a light pole and a building to avoid another car.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, troopers were requested to investigate a building crash around 1 a.m. Thursday, at the intersection of Thomas Avenue and Milton Street in St. Paul.
There, the Minnesota State Patrol reported that a St. Paul police squad car was traveling east on Thomas Avenue when it had to swerve to avoid another car, which was traveling south from Milton Street to eastbound Thomas Avenue.
While the two vehicles did not make contact, the squad car did collide with a light pole and a building.
The driver of the squad car suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
