According to a press release, starting on Friday, July 25, 2025, Main Street Moments will kick off in Tazewell County with a cruise-in where cars will line Main Street.
The press release stated that the Jackie Adkins Memorial Cruise-In will include hot rods, classic cars, and custom builds, and a variety of people, from car owners to car enthusiasts, are welcome to attend the event.
There was a beloved community member that passed away this past year, his name was Jackie Adkins, and he was very instrumental in starting the cruise-ins in Tazewell, so we are having a Jackie Adkins memorial cruise-in on Friday night. He always loved beach music, so we have Continental Divide that is going to be playing that night.

According to the press release, those who participate in the cruise-in, which is free and open to all vehicles, will begin to line up at 4:30 p.m. at 2330 Fincastle Turnpike, the old Ramey lot, before leaving at 5:30 p.m. for Main Street.
The press release stated that while no registration is necessary, anyone who knows they plan to attend the event can register here. Anyone who cannot join the parade can go show off their vehicle on Main Street and get to know other event attendees.
According to the press release, at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, Continental Divide featuring Gene Pharr, a 2016 Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame inductee, will perform on Altizer Stage.
The press release stated that the event will focus on the cruise-in, cars, and live music to keep the traditional cruise-in feel. Businesses on Main Street will also have merchandise, as well as food and drinks, for attendees to enjoy.
According to the press release, Tazewell’s Main Street Moments will continue on Saturday, July 26, 2025 with a vendor fair that will last from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and vendors that will be at the event can be found on Tazewell Today’s website.
The press release stated that there will be an obstacle course, a Hungry Hippo Chow Down, an inflatable bounce house, and a Jacob’s Ladder at the event, planned activities for kids at the Minipark, a Princess Tea Party at 11:30 a.m. a Superhero Party at 12:30 p.m., balloon animals and face painting at 3:00 p.m., and a foam party at 6:00 p.m.
According to the press release, people who attend the event on Saturday, July 26, 2025 will be able to enjoy entertainment on Altizer Stage, that will begin with Justin Baldwin music at 10:00 a.m., magician Twisted Dog Productions, at 1:30 p.m., music by The Pubknockers at 3:00 p.m., and music by From the Edge at 6:30 p.m.
Information in the press release stated that a map will be not only be posted on Tazewell Today’s website, but people will also be able to access it during the event to help people find vendors, restaurants, entertainment, and stores.
