SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – City council members are questioning the design process underway for the city’s water towers.

Council members asked a series of questions to the Water and Sewerage Department about how the process took place for selecting the contractors to repaint local water towers. Some members saying they are unhappy with the direction of the designs and want to be a part of future committee decisions.

“We have to be careful when we hire a specialist and then we don’t listen because they said white is not a good color, black is not a good color because it shows dirt and it holds heat. So I think for future reference, I would like to be more involved just because I don’t feel like we did our due diligence and listened to what the professional told us. We did the opposite,” said councilwoman Ursula Bowman, District G.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux said he sent council members a four-page report detailing the background of the water tower design process.
