- Very low chance for tropical formation in Gulf; more rain on the way

Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center is monitoring another weak and disorganized system that will move across the northern Gulf over the next few days. This looks very similar to last week’s disturbance and shouldn’t cause any significant impacts. The NHC has a 10% chance that this becomes at least a Tropical Depression in the next two days.
The next name on the list is Dexter if it’s able to reach tropical storm strength with wind speeds at 39 mph or higher.
Regardless of development, tropical rains are expected to arrive in Acadiana tomorrow afternoon. Tropical downpours should continue on Friday followed by slightly lower rain chances over the weekend. Heavy rains and gusty winds are possible but widespread flash flooding nor severe weather is expected with this upcoming disturbance. Most of Acadiana will receive 1-3 inches of rain.
