Gas leak in Dumfries prompts road closures, detours

DUMFRIES, Va. (DC News Now) — A detour was set up in Dumfries following a gas leak Tuesday afternoon.

Town of Dumfries officials shared on social media around 1 p.m. that the leak had occurred on Main Street. As a result, Batestown Road to Curtis Drive was closed as crews worked on repairs.

As of Tuesday afternoon, all traffic was being rerouted from Main Street.

Currently, it is unknown when the roads will reopen.
