BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Former LSU running back Trey Holly was spotted in uniform at Southern University’s first practice of fall camp. Holly was a member of the LSU Tigers the last two seasons but was indefinitely suspended by the team after he was charged with attempted second-degree murder heading into his sophomore year. That charge was later dropped, but he is still facing charges of illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property. Holly missed the whole 2024 season due to the suspension.
During Holly’s time at Union Parish High School, he broke the state’s all-time rushing record with 10,523 yards. He signed with LSU, rated as the No. 4 RB in his class.
Southern head coach Terrence Graves has confirmed that Holly is eligible to play and is joining the team as a walk-on.
