Federal aid approved for Indiana, Kentucky following storms

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – President Donald Trump approves federal disaster aid for parts of Indiana and Kentucky.

It’s for areas hit hard by recent severe storms and flooding.

The declaration means money will be available to help communities rebuild, covering costs for emergency work, repairs and temporary housing.

Governors from the states requested the aid after powerful storms swept through last month, downing trees, damaging homes and leaving thousands without power.

The FEMA assistance is now available to both local governments and some individuals, bringing some needed relief to storm survivors across the region.
