CHP seizes guns, drugs from driver who ran Vallejo stop sign

(KRON) — A driver who ran a stop sign in Vallejo was found to be in possession of firearms and narcotics after being pulled over, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.

The bust occurred last week when a CHP officer pulled over a black Dodge Hornet on Fairgrounds Drive. According to authorities, a probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle after officers saw loose marijuana.

During the search, a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine and a shotgun were located, CHP said. Officers also said they located approximately 500 pills, promethazine, marijuana, wax and cocaine.

The Dodge’s driver, who was not identified, was allegedly under the influence and was arrested on multiple felony charges.

On Tuesday, a search warrant executed at the suspect’s home located more firearms, pills and marijuana, which were seized, authorities said. The suspect was arrested again under new charges related to the search.
