Triple-digit Tuesday: Upper-level high pressure will continue to build over the middle of the country and will bring some very hot temperatures not only on Tuesday, but for the next week. Lows Tuesday morning will likely be in the upper 70s over most of the area. Daytime highs on Tuesday will be near 100 degrees. A Heat Advisory will likely continue as the heat index will easily surpass 105 degrees. As the graphic below shows, we likely won’t see much change for the next several days.
Lots of sun and no rain: Futurecast shows that we will see a mostly clear sky on Tuesday night. That will be followed by a mostly sunny sky on Tuesday, a mostly clear sky on Tuesday night, and lots of sunshine once again on Wednesday.
Long-range outlook: The upper-level ridge will continue to keep us hot and dry through all of this week. A disturbance will move westward along the bottom of the ridge and could bring our next hope of rain late this weekend and early next week. It is possible that much of the area could stay dry.
Highs temperatures will likely stay close to 100 degrees through Friday, ease into the mid to upper 90s this weekend and early next week, and then warm back to the century mark by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will remain fairly steady in the mid to upper 70s.
