PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is investigating a deadly shooting that left a teenager dead and a man hurt in the middle of the morning on Sunday.

PGPD responded to a shooting in the 6900 block of Killarney Street at about 11:20 a.m. on July 20, where they found 17-year-old Camron Anthony Adams in a car suffering from a gunshot wound.

He passed away at the scene.

A second person — a man — was also shot. PGPD noted his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

As of Monday, police were still working to determine a potential motive and identify suspects.

PGPD spokesperson Brayan Perez said detectives are working hard to solve the case.

“We are looking for a motive and looking for those responsible. We know it’s a tough time, and anytime there is a loss of life. We know the families are grieving and the families want justice, so we are working the case,” Perez said.

A neighbor who spoke with DC News Now and did not want to be identified said they need to have more police presence in the neighborhood.

“These young people would see the police patrolling more frequently; they wouldn’t feel so comfortable doing what they do,” she said. “I am concerned because there are times when I am not comfortable to go get my own mail because people are up and down this street, and when we moved here, we thought it would be quiet, but it’s not.”
