SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — One person is dead after firefighters responded to a reported drowning at Aquatic Park in San Francisco around 8 p.m. Monday.

The San Francisco Fire Department was called to the public beach after a person was seen calling for help in the water.

“SFFD rescue swimmers deployed into the water to search the last known location of the victim,” SFFD said.

After 30 minutes of searching, scuba divers found the victim and removed him from the water. Paramedics tried to revive the person, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
