The crash occurred on U.S. 49 East in Holmes County near the Leflore County line just after 5:45 a.m. on July 22.
Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2016 Mazda CX-5 was traveling south on the highway when the vehicle ran off the road and collided with an embankment.
Troopers said the driver, Carly Dean, 27, of Cruger, received fatal injuries and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
