According to the Rockford Police Department, officers with the department’s Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team spotted the suspicious activity at Second Congregational UCC Church, at 318 N Church Street, around 1:50 a.m.
Police said they recovered screwdrivers in the teens’ possession.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with possession of burglary tools, a curfew violation, and public urination. He was lodged in Juvenile Detention.
