Overturned tractor-trailer closes busy intersection in Gaston County: NCDOT

GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The intersection of I-85 and North Chester Street in Gaston County is closed due to an oil spill from an overturned tractor-trailer.

According to NCDOT, the intersection will be closed until 2 p.m. as crews work to clear the scene. A Queen City News crew at the scene said for the fuel that didn’t spill onto the road, officials worked to transfer it into barrels.

Officials did not say if anyone in the truck was injured or if any other vehicles were involved.
