Lafayette Police responded to a call on Saturday where officers found a woman bleeding. The two suspects, Davante Dotson, 29, Baton Rouge and Kadaro Smith, 28, Baton Rouge, were also at the scene.
Police say both suspects were also covered in blood. Police say the suspects resisted arrest and spit in the faces of three officers. After detaining the suspects, officers provided air to the injured woman.
Smith is charged with Battery of a Police officer, intentional exposure to AIDS virus, resisting an officer among other charges.
Dotson is charged with Aggravated Batter of a dating partner and resisting an officer.
Both are being held in the Lafayette Correction Center.
