Three arrested for shooting that killed 1, injured 5 in Natchitoches

The shooting happened on July 6 around 1:41 am. Police were called to the 300 block of Keyser Ave after reports of gunshots in the area. Six people were found shot, and one of the victims, identified as 18-year-old Latravion Stallworth of Natchitoches, was pronounced dead by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner; the other victims were treated at Natchitoches Regional Hospital. Two victims were later transferred to hospitals in Caddo and Rapides Parishes.

NPD announced that Shadarious White, 19, Jermaurion Simmons, 18, and Demarkcus Nicholas, also 19, were arrested on Thursday, July 17, after arrest warrants were issued. The three suspects were booked into the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

• White and Simmons both face second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of weapons charges.
• Nicholas was arrested for obstruction of justice.
