Officers with the Lawrence Police Department were called around 4:30 p.m. to 5765 Sunnyside Road, the listed address for a Wendy’s in the area, in response to a reported robbery. Minutes later, medics were also called to the scene after dispatch received reports that a pedestrian was struck.
Preliminary information indicates the suspect reportedly ran over the victim with their car while fleeing the scene, LPD said. The victim received medical treatment for “non-life-threatening injuries” and is expected to recover.
