DC man sentenced for string of ‘violent robberies’ of Maryland businesses

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A D.C. man was sentenced Friday to three and a half years in prison for a string of violent robberies of Maryland businesses, according to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.

Glenn Dolford, 32, pleaded guilty in February to two counts of interference with interstate commerce by threat or violence. He was additionally ordered to serve three years of supervised release after his sentence.

The USAO noted that the sentencing will be added to the over 22 years he must serve for a deadly shooting on Super Bowl Sunday in February 2020 that killed one man and injured two others.

According to court documents, the charges against Dolford stem from robberies in June 2020, when and three co-conspirators drove from D.C. to a CVS Pharmacy in Nottingham, Md. There, Dolford and two others assaulted an employee during a robbery.

During the robbery, the employee attempted to run away when Dolford caught up to him, threw him to the floor, punched him in the head and held him down by putting his foot on his back. The USAO said over $1,000 worth of hydrocodone and the employee’s items were stolen.

Court documents say that the next day, the conspirators drove from D.C. to a T-Mobile store in College Park, where they forced employees to the back of the store, threatening to kill them if they did not hand over all of the electronics in the store. The group then fled with $20,000 worth of phones.

The USAO states that during both robberies, Dolford was driving a rented silver Volkswagen Jetta that he had rented from Enterprise Rent-a-Car on May 28, 2020, linking him to the crime.

In June 2023, Dolford was indicted on conspiracy and Hobbs Act robbery charges in connection with the two incidents.

According to the USAO, Dolford’s co-conspirators were both sentenced with Floyd Neal, 32, ordered to serve over 13 years and Ashawntea Henderson, 32, ordered to serve over four years.

The incident was investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Violent Crimes Task Force, the Metropolitan Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department.
