St. Paul’s Brady Pierson leading the pack

FRANKLINTON, La. (WGNO) – A new QB1 is taking over St. Paul’s offense. After three years under center, Brennan Keim graduates from the Northshore and is now in Memphis, Tennessee, playing for Rhodes College. Now, the Wolves turn to junior Brady Pierson as their next starting signal caller, and head coach Ken Sears hints at more than just a passer stepping into the backfield.

“Really good athlete, dynamic, probably brings something different to the table than Brennan could, but the good things is we have those two running backs back, got three offensive lineman back, and looking to lean on them and create some opportunities for him to make plays,” Sears said.

The Wolves 1-2 punch at running back includes two upcoming seniors: Troy Willis and Cody Corales, and combining Willis’s burner ability with Corales’s physicality is one element of St. Paul’s offense coach Sears is excited to see grow.

“Both those guys bring something a little bit different to the table in their running styles. Basically two three-year starters and excited to have them back and looking forward to see the things that they can create for us,” Sears continued.

Corales is fresh off his first Division I offer from Southeastern. In the passing game though, Pierson has a clear cut number one receiver: Brennan Villa, and the two’s connection shines Wednesday, during St. Paul’s 7-on-7 with Franklinton, which has provided another step in the quarterback’s growth.

“It’s great. We do this four or five Wednesdays through the summer, and it’s different than a tournament. We can stop a play, and try to fix something, and coach our guys up and figure out some things that we’re doing wrong and try to fix it. It’s competitive and the guys compete with each other, but it’s a coaching opportunity as opposed to trying to win a 7-on-7 tournament,” the Wolves head coach finished.

St. Paul’s will showcase its new offense at Live Oak to open the 2025 season
