Police arrest suspect in deadly Southland Casino shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The man who was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting at the Southland Casino has been arrested.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Travis Boyd was arrested in Memphis.

The shooting happened at around 4 a.m. on November 8, 2024, in the parking lot of the casino. The victim was identified as Orlando Garza.

Nearly a month after the shooting, the West Memphis Police Department released a photo of Boyd and announced that he was considered armed and dangerous.

Boyd’s charges have not been released at this time.
