IMPD responds to fatal crash involving bicyclist, box truck on Indy’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a crash involving a bicycle and a box truck left a man dead on the west side of Indianapolis Friday afternoon.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 12:13 p.m. to the intersection of Miller Street and S. Lynhurst Drive after receiving reports that a personal injury crash occurred in the area.

IMPD said preliminary information indicates that an adult male was riding a bicycle on Miller Street when he was reportedly struck by a box truck. The driver remained on the scene and fully cooperated with officers.

IMPD’s Fatal Crash Investigations team is leading the investigation.
